Why This Must Be Read: Rodney is a famous stage actor, musician, and writer. John Sheppard is an A-list actor who has been stuck playing sci-fi hero in increasingly crappy movies. When one of Rodney's short stories is rewritten for a movie, Rodney and John are tapped to play the leads. The project means a great deal to both men, for different reasons. Rodney is horrified John is being cast, as he views him as a subpar actor. John is angry that Rodney is so dismissive of him. Both are about to be surprised. Despite being 62k, this fic goes fast: I've read it twice, and both times once I got started I read right through the end in one go. The characterization is spot on. Squidgie's Ronon is particularly fun.
