Why this must be read: Teyla persuades her team to celebrate midwinter, and to find some hope in the darkness.

I like what the author says about this story, that "it's about angst and friendship and healing." After TMC, Teyla's team is hurting badly, and needs a time for some healing and hope. But it's up to Teyla to make it happen.

Why This Must Be Read: Here, have some absolute team glee as Cameron is forced to under 48 hours of supervision in a very... fraught hospital room, and the team does its shameless best to mitigate his stay. Smuggled meals, wheelchair races, hacked networks, card games... Hilarious, perfectly in character, and an absolute joy!

By the time Teal'c had to leave, Cam was down four million and seventy-four dollars, two dog watches, and a bag of cheese puffs. Teal'c disliked the ratio of cheese to crunch on the sticks.

Why this must be read: I bring you a two-fer today! In "Christmas Flame" Jack ends up spending the holiday with Sam's family in California, at Jacob's invitation. Nothing wrong with friends spending the holidays together, right? The UST Sally Reeve builds in this fic is really great - Sam and Jack circle each other the whole time, afraid to get too close, afraid everyone can see their feelings for each other. But some things are inevitable!

In "New Year's Resolution" things go from confused to desperate when Jacob gets involved. Again, great tension throughout the story!

Summary: No one should be alone at Christmas...

Why This Must Be Read: I'm pretty sure I signed up to rec Sam for this month explicitly so I could rec this fic. Framed around Sam's love for (and subsequent missing of, when on other planets) the stars,

blahnicity gets into Sam's head in such a quiet manner, taking us from early SG-1 to Sam's time on Atlantis. The language is flowly and gorgeous, without being overwhelming, and the end is simply perfect.

That Daniel lost his Sam, but not before they had a loving relationship and family first. Now he's faced with another Sam who hasn't approached her Daniel with her feelings. So begins a very tender exploration of what could be waiting in store for Sam if she just chucks up enough courage to say those magic words. Alternate/quantum realities give so many chances for the exploration of these sort of themes, and Eventhorizon7 delivers in this one.

Story Summary: During a chance encounter with an alternate Daniel, Sam realizes that there could be much more to her life.
