Why This Must Be Read:
Author's summary: The team goes offworld to take care of some mining negotiations, only to meet with an unanticipated challenge. Will SG-1 be the same after visiting P3X-427?
It starts as a cliche. Sam and Jack have to pretend to be married. They go through an alien bonding ceremony, and then find they have to stick together or else one of them could die. What makes this refreshing, however, is that they don't use it as an excuse to conveniently forget all those USAF regulations that have kept them apart for so long. That doesn't mean to say they have no desire to grow closer; they just "know better."
